Pursuing her simply didn’t work. John attended the all-boys school in town, Ashley the all-girls school….but because of a mutual friend, they had known each other for years. And John liked Ashley. Really liked her. Wanted to date her. He was a year older, and for whatever reason, she just would NOT give him much consideration. Eventually, he decided enough was enough, and he simply stopped trying. Gave up the pursuit, and assumed this just wasn’t going to happen. There might be a lesson here somewhere, though, because when John was smart enough to back off, that was precisely when Ashley decided she just might be interested in this John guy. When their paths crossed again, at a friends party, she looked at him just a bit differently. They started up a conversation, and Ashley realized she was indeed interested..…in John. They began dating and stayed together the five years following, throughout their college years at the University of Arkansas. Ashley and John made it official in August of 2011, in a gorgeous wedding and reception at St. Andrew's cathedral.
