When I was in second grade, I was selected to participate in a Young Author's Convention. From that day forward, I dreamed about becoming a writer. I was an avid reader, and just knew that someday, I would be able to write something that someone else would want to read.
Alas, fate has a way of stepping in, and telling us rather rudely when we aren't on the right path. Because one day, in the midst of my storytelling fantasies, I had the opportunity to attend a writing workshop, where a world-renowned author told me I was a terrible writer. (she was pretty much right, by the way) In the midst of my self-pity, I picked up my camera. And started taking photographs, which had long been an outlet for my emotions, with a new intensity.
Funny thing, but for the first time ever, I was able to tell a story that others wanted to.....see, rather than read. I learned to tell stories through my lens, and found all of the fulfillment of a dream realized; albeit through a different medium than I had originally hoped.
If I could pen any type of novel, it would be a romance. Which probably explains why I am most drawn to wedding photography. I love to document love stories. And I love to tell the story I see through my lens.
The story behind the why.....
